TRANSGLOBAL UNDERGROUND COME TO TEAR YOUR WALL DOWN
The next release from Transglobal Underground will be a download only EP of ‘WE COME TO TEAR YOUR WALL DOWN’ one of the best-received tracks from the current album ‘The Stone Turntable.’ Along with a radio edit of the original comes a bluebeat inspired mix by DUB COLUSSUS, an extra TGU mix, and a remix of another album track, ‘MAZBOORI’ by ECCODEK.
Over a period of days last winter, the central TGU collective, plust friends, guest and relatives, headed to beautiful downtown Wapping and wandered the emptying depots, shut down malls, estates and gated high security warehouse conversion compounds along the banks of the Thames, returning to a local studio to create and improvise the songs for the album ‘The Stone Turntable.’
Out of this creativity comes ‘We Come to Tear Your Wall Down,’ a ska flavoured cheerfully sardonic tribute to the increasing division of London and so many other places into segregated groups or people living side by side, but separated by barriers both invisible and solid brick and mortar.
The intention was to release the song as a single in the summer. In the light of events in the city in August it didn’t feel like the right moment. Now, it does.
‘We Come to Tear Your Wall Down’ will be available from next week: links will go up on here as soon as we have them.
